"On the 25th of May 2010 the First Minister of Scotland announced the "Second Homecoming" in 2014. Let's start talking about it NOW, not waiting until 2014. Homecoming Scotland in 2009 was a success even though it was not promoted as much as it should have been.
So here we are, especially for you: The Unofficial Homecoming Scotland II Facebook; to give the promotion a wee boost." www.facebook.com/pages/Homecoming-Scotland-II/111558512231592Remember September 07, 2007, “ Robert Burns Homecoming” on TripAdvisor: "I'd love to know what preparations south west Scotland councils and tourism firms are making for 2009. Gretna to Largs has a fantastic opportunity to promote its connection with the Bard of Scotland but as usual there seems to be little or no momentum. The whole of the south west missed out when Braveheart hit the movie screens, whereas other parts of Scotland, which had only a slight connection with the main man, made millions. Burns brings in at least £150 million a year to the Scottish economy, surely this shows us his popularity, and where does the money go? Do the wee villages on the Burns Heritage Trail benefit? Will they in the future? Soap box here I come. " www.tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g186574-i1475-k1442906-l9033519-Robert_Burns_Homecoming-Ayr_South_Ayrshire_Ayrshire_Scotland.html#9033519
